  1. This fight with ultimately be decided within the disparity between fighting styles and the mental state of the fighters post and during the fight. Johnny Hendricks fights with a distinctly brash motive and mindset during his fights, which underpins his boxing and wrestling credentials. Questionably his motive for this fight is to knock GSP senseless. Save for the obvious this plan seems plausible and could work swimmingly despite its obvious shortfalls. More to the point, can one concert their aggression upon a sole option for winning a title bought. However is this at the behest of a potential fight victory in the end. Surely one would think alternatively the safest course of action for Hendricks to ensure victory would be to primal suffocate GSP with his highly vaunted collegiate level wrestling skills. If the opportunity presented itself during the fights to utilise what punters are calling a “ Punchers chance” then he should rightfully pound away at his opponent with much velocity.
As martial arts masters almost subliminally instil in their opponents fighting is much about the mentality and utilising ones tools to protect the body as it is focusing solely on the opponent and persona one faces in battle. For George St Pierre this mantra was endorsed vividly in a meeting with a well renowned Japanese karate Sensai filmed for MMA Primetime recently. During the conversation the Sensai was presented with an image of Hendricks to which he mused “ He big man, best stay out of way, will you be okay?”. This statement represents a figment of the true martial artists mentality and reinforces that the liquidity and simplicity of GSP’s fight plan far surpasses the brashness and impulsive nature of Hendrick’s. Can George weave and bounce his way away from Hendrick’s hand grenades and achieve yet another title defence? Will Hendricks ensure that GSP returns to Canada with a giant headache and a lot more baggage space minus the championship belt. Sunday has the answers.

  2. Wow, incredible insight into the fight. Your arguments for both are correct. GSP is an 'perfectionist' he demands 100% from himself. Perfection is non-existent but 80% is the absolute minimum that is continually displayed from GSP.
Punters punch is majority of the hype behind Bigg Rigg, the same punters punch was the hype for Mark Hunt to defeat JDS and the result was quiet the opposite. GSP shut down Diaz with wrestling because it was not wise to stand a trade knowing Diaz was the better striker, However Johny has the arsenal of high level wrestling so whether it's standing or on the ground Hendricks has the awnsers.
