Noke V Cote, TUF Nations!

The next installment of the The Ultimate Fighter "Australia" Is a deal done!
UFC President Dana White confirmed rumours announcing that TUF Nations Australia Vs Canada has found their coaches and will consist of Welterweight all round, With  Kyle 'KO' Noke heading up the Aussies against charismatic Canadian Patrick "The Predator" Coté.

The Predator in his UD Victory at UFC 158
Coté having fought most of his career at middleweight until dropping down to welterweight recently goes into  TUF with over 10 years experience, an being a competitor of TUF himself makes him the perfect candidate to lead the Canadians.

Although there's been plenty of kinks in the chain of his lengthy career, On more than one occasion unusual referee involvements and reverse decisions, something Coté would not be proud of.  kicking of a 0-4 record in the UFC before turning it all around and getting a shot Anderson Silva back in 2008 where he was forced to withdraw during the fight as he suffered a knee injury it seems Coté has never been back to his TOP Winning ways of prior to his Silva fight.
Members of Mma Aus Witnessed first hand Coté's Welterweight Debut at UFC 158 against Bobby Voelker, in which he scored a unanimous decision victory, it was no memory bank material fight and the home town crowd (more like judges) of Montreal Quebec may have played a part.
With Canada having produced arguably the top MMA Trainer/coach Firas Zahabi of TRISTAR Gym the talent is phenomenal within Montreal alone, so expect to see a Zahabi prospect competing on the show or even joining the Predators coaching team.

Aussie Aussie Aussie, Noke Noke Noke. You can't get a more True Blue bloke then Kyle 'KO' Noke, the former personal security guard of Aussie legend Steve Irwin.
Noke much like Coté has been in the scene for a little over 10 years starting out as a Welterweight, moving up to Middleweight for a while, before dropping back down an sharpening up, he looks to have found his destiny in his original division. His actions do the talking, in his return to Welterweight he made quick work of Charlie Brenneman at UFC 152 with a TKO victory inside the first minute. Which Noke credits to joining Jackson's/Winkeljohn's MMA team in Albuquerque, New Mexico, another Top MMA Coach/Trainer's gym.
With that Talent within the borders of our Nation growing, Australia will gain even more attention when some of the toughest and smartest Welterweights look to grab a spot on Team Australia.

When Noke Vs Coté grace the octagon, Egos Testosterone an Pride will be boiling up inside, with both sitting middle picking in the Welterweight Division a Win is crucial! Lets hope it heads down to Aussie shores with the Finale Scheduled to be early 2014, following the airing of the show.
'KO' Making Quick work of Brenneman

Sot's was our lead man for the Aussie in the UFC it was his spot for the first installment of TUF. Australia its now over to Noke to don the baggy green!

UFC 162 Preview Cont... Weidman to dethrone Silva

Frankie Edgar VS Charles Oliveira

The co-main event gives us a No.1 contenders battle in the featherweight division. Charles Oliveira is  as classy on the ground as anyone in the featherweight division. His superior ground game is all I think he can really hang his hat on. At this level of competition it simply won't be enough. We all know Frankie Edgar, his last 3 fights have all been losses, so going on just his record you would say this guy is done. Laughable! He is still, in my opinion, amongst the best pound for pound fighters in the world. His 2 'losses' to Benson Henderson could've easily been wins and his loss to José Aldo was nothing to be ashamed of. Yes this guy has had 3 losses his last 3 fights and only 1 win in 5, watch him make short work of Oliveira in this one and show the world why he is still knocking on the door of a title. His Cardio is second to none in any weight division and he'll hit you just as hard in the last minute of the 3rd round.
Who Wins
Frankie Edgar by KO Round 1

THE MAIN EVENT

Anderson Silva VS Chris Weidman

Well, well, well, this is the fight Anderson tried to run away from and it's finally caught up with him. Chris Weidman is a machine! His wrestling is better than anything Anderson has seen and his cardio will be better than Silva's. Mix that in with undeniable power and Anderson Silva has big problems. Chris Weidmans last outing was against the then No.1 contender Mark Munoz and his highlight reel finish of Mark caught Anderson's eye enough, to turn down the first offer of a fight against Chris. Chris' violent standing elbow finish was as unorthodox as anything Anderson can throw, this scares him. Anderson as we all know will go down as the best MMA fighter of all time, I for one, hope we get to see the super fights against Jones and GSP, however Dana has said if Chris beats him, there is NO super fight. So what happens? Silva has the superior stand up, he will try the usual. He will feel Chris out for the first 2 min then try and counter attack. Wrong. Chris won't allow this, he'll feint a takedown or two before getting the double leg and punishing Silva on his back, expect to see this repeated over 5 rounds. Anderson is a living legend of the sport, but the reign must come to an end.
Who Wins
Chris Weidman via Unanimous Decision

UFC 162 Preview

Mark Munoz VS Tim Boetsch

The battle of the 'ALMOST THERE' contenders. Tim's recent record is extremely impressive. However to go over it with a fine comb, you can find flaws. His outstanding comeback against Yushin Okami was ultra amazing, however he was well beaten for 2 rounds, Okami lacked the cardio to hold Tim down in the 3rd and all it took was for one decent right hook to end Okami's night. His next fight against the very well respected Hector Lombard, came as a suprise to many, people thought Hector was the next big thing and Tim controlled the fight for the majority. Again I think he got lucky on the day, I guess you could say Hector had an adrenaline dump, being his first fight in the octagon. His last fight was a loss to Costa Phillipou in which he sustained an injury and eventually lost. I don't think his striking or ground game is up to this level of competition. Mark Munoz is a guy who's last fight was against the No.1 contender. Mark was on the cusp of a title shot and was beaten by a guy who is THE next big thing. A freaky elbow ended his night. But underestimate this guy at your own peril, his wrestling is top notch and his vicious ground and pound will send you home a sight for sore eyes.
Who Wins
Mark Munoz by Unanimous Decision

Cub Swanson VS Denis Siver

The second bout on the card, is an interesting fight. Siver a tried and true kickboxer, is a huge challenge at featherweight, given his long stint in the UFC lightweight division, will come come at Cub with very solid stand-up and highlight reel spinning kicks. Siver's lightning quick kicks are what Cub needs to watch out for, he's a compact guy with lots of muscle and throws each kick with intent to hurt. Siver's record of 2-0 at featherweight only further shows his danger at 145lbs. Cub is every chance in this fight, he has wins over Ross Pearson, Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirier in his last 3 outings, and given his enjoyment of a good old fashioned brawl I can't see it going the distance. I think Cub should be trying to take Denis down, but he won't, he'll stand and bang and I think ultimately will get the TKO. His strikes aren't as technically correct as what Siver's are, but he hits from different angles, and works inside his range very well.
Who Wins
Cub Swanson by TKO 2nd round

Tim Kennedy VS Roger Gracie

Two former Strikeforce contenders battle it out in this one to see who will make the cut in the worlds premier MMA organization. Having the surname Gracie strikes fear into anyone thinking of going to the ground. Tim would be wise not to go there, Roger the grandson of Carlos Gracie holds a second degree black belt in BJJ and is a multiple world champion in the art. He has wins over former UFC fighters Kevin Randelmann and Keith Jardine and his only professional MMA loss came at the hands of King Mo. Don't expect to see him stand. 5 of his 6 wins have come via submission. Tim's advantage in this one will be his cardio, he needs to stuff every take down, and make Roger pay on the feet. His only losses in the last 3 years have been to Ronaldo Souza and Luke Rockhold, so this guy is up there.
Who Wins
Roger Gracie via Submission (Americana) Round 1

Rory O'Connell AFC5 Victory Recap

Rory O'Connell really made his mark at AFC 5 against Ivo Dos Santos,
after an incredible TKO victory.

O'Connell and Santos went at it for 2 rounds, after a dominating performance and a great performance on the mat O'Connell dealt Santos a skull rattling knee to the temple at the 57 second mark of the 2nd round that completely rocked him, O'Connell being so aggressive saw his opportunity to strike so he did throwing left hooks and right hooks he had him backed into the corner on the ropes and finished him with a nice right hook to the jaw when the ref called a stop to the fight at 46 seconds left in the 2nd round, it was an amazing victory for O'Connell now making his record 6-1, make no mistakes about it people this guy is the real deal don't be surprised if we see him fighting with the elites at UFC.

Nick "BANJO" Patterson Set For AFC 6 Victory

Nick "BANJO" Patterson
Nick "BANJO" Patterson,

Has recently called out Daniel "HANGMAN" Hooker to fight at AFC 6 and I think Patterson will give Hooker a fight he will not be expecting. I've noticed that Patterson, with an 11-3-1 Win Loss record, is very smart minded when he is in the ring and he knows how to use this to his advantage. Even though Hooker likes to take things to ground, I think Patterson will have a slight upper hand in that situation. As soon as Patterson see's the opportunity to strike he'll go in all guns blazing and chances are if you drop your guard for even a split second he will come at you with an extremely lethal flying knee. If he doesn't manage to land the knee, he has a very nice right hand over head that is more than likely going to clean up anyone in his path.

My Prediction: I think Patterson will win this fight either by decision or by TKO.

Why?: He has a slight advantage in his ring experience and he looks driven. He will end the fight with a barrage of punches followed by a heavy right hook that will seal his victory.

Thanks for reading guys and girls I hope you enjoyed reading it.

Whittaker Back In Action!!!!

Our own Robert Whittaker is going to be jumping back in the octagon against none other than the proud and the passionate Court McGee, this will be an intense fight that I think all will enjoy.

The fight is on Fox Sports 1 on August 28th 2013
and is in Indianapolis, IN.

Court McGee: He is one of several people that have won the Ultimate Fighter, he has come from rock bottom to the biggest stage of them all, he has overcome a major drug addiction and was even pronounced clinically dead after he over dosed in his cousins bathroom, but this man has a lot to fight for and he is out there to prove a point and will prove a worthy opponent for New Zealand and Australia's Robert Whittaker.

Robert Whittaker: Rob is another winner of the Ultimate Fighter and one out of just a small but growing number of Aussies in the UFC, after his last fight at UFC 160 when he defeated the American Colton Smith by TKO in the 2 round something I have come to notice with Whittaker is his foot work around the octagon it's spectacular he is quick to get into a different stance something I think could pose quite a challenge to Court McGee to keep up with and notice.

My Prediction: This fight will go down to the wire and be extremely close but I am calling Whittaker a winner by a knock-out 1 minute and 26 seconds into the 2nd round.

Why?: It will be Whittaker's Quick foot speed and lethal accurate striking that will break McGee down then at the precise moment Whittaker will make his move.

Thanks for reading guys and girls I hope you enjoyed it,

2 Titles, PPV Card, Etihad Stadium. Your Click Counts.

A Sold out Etihad Stadium 50,000+ fans, 2 UFC World title fights, a Global PPV Aussie filled card!! Is what's in the pipework's shall the Victorian Government legalise "Cage Fighting" according to Tom Wright (UFC Director of Australia/Canada/New Zealand ).

" I've had talks with president Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta and when the ban is lifted in Victoria we would bring a PPV to Etihad Stadium along the lines of the first PPV we took to Toronto after Ontario Overturned a simular Regulatory ban".
Tom Wright (far right) with Vic Government staff an UFC
MMA vet Anthony 'glass chin' Perosh'.(2nd from left).
The UFC holds strong that any event run by them will always be inside the CAGE and not in a boxing ring which is currently the law in Victoria who link MMA and CAGE fighting as unsafe.

"The Octagon is designed to ensure the safety of Athletes, official and spectators.
The fencing keeps all high-impact action contained securely inside the competition area. The image of the sport, The 'CAGE', is purpose to be the reason behind the entirely subjective legislative decision, a move that completely overlooks the key issue of fighter safety".

Earlier this week Wright met with staff of the Victorian government Sports Ministry to tour Etihad Staidum and discuss the future plans the UFC has in place.
Involving the next Instalment of The Ultimate Fighter Australia which is rumoured to be Australia Vs Canada set to go ahead early 2014.
Wright is also heading around the Gum tree to push UFC into other states and promote the Fuel Tv Card coming to our shores in December.

ClickForVic was launched earlier this week, the campaign to legalise MMA fighting in a cage, and it has had quick succes, with many UFC Fighters jumping on board for support, including unlikely "Villan" Ross Pearson who was in Melbourne last week donning a ClickForVic T-shirt, UFC president Dana White also got on board Tweeting "UFC in Melbourne would be huge! #ClickForVic!.

The Campaign has come along to get the general public involved in the push towards legalising the cage, Urging fans to spread the word. Log on to https://www.facebook.com/ClickForVic and using #ClickForVic on Twitter.
