UFC's Hunt, Te-Huna, Whitaker Set To Sky-rocket MMA Down Under.

UFC 160 Is just around the corner, and it definitely has the potential to be the pinnacle event  for which will gain leaps and bounds (On top of the ever growing fan base) for UFC/MMA in Australia.

With the 3 Home-grown fighters (2 adopted) Fighting on the card it has the feeling that MMA Australia is on the cusp of a becoming a top sport in our competitive fanatic country, potentially bringing in non combat sports fans, cementing MMA on the map and stepping up above other nations to cash in on the fastest growing sport.

This comes about from Mark Hunt, James Te-Huna and Robert Whitaker who are the rocket fuel for the Aussies at 160.
Whitaker (10-2) The first ever Ultimate fighter Australia (TUF Smashes) Winner will make his first appearence in the Octagon since earning the crown, fighting on the under card, he takes on a fellow Ultimate Fighter winner Colton Smith (3-1) in the talent rich welterweight division.
Whitaker's agressive style, karate background, and mental focus gives him a tremendous arsenal going into the bout, but it's his passionate personality which he shows in fights and his pride (Southern Cross Tattoo) that can make him a pioneer for MMA in australia (Leap frogging George Sots) shall he knock of Smith this weekend.

James Te-Huna has been around the punch a while and most fans will know him from the local circuit, but it's his recent run of success that has been a catalyst for growth of UFC Australia, including 2 finishes and 2 hard fought Unanimous decision Wins.

The MIB (Men In Black) Style entrance (See here) in his last encounter at  UFC on Fuel TV followed by a comeback win was the driving force that has James status higher then ever and landed him a big name fight.
He originally stated that he wanted to fight Maurico 'Shogun' Rua a huge step up in competition but this wasn't to be the case as Shogun was put up against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
With all top ten ranked light heavyweights scheduled to fight in the coming months Te-Huna seemed like he would be shelved for a while, but when Ryan Bader suffered an injury and withdrew from his bout against Glover Texeria the door flung open of MMA Australia, Te-Huna pounced on the gap and will go fist for fist with the 18 win hot streak of Texeria, a huge underdog but with everything to gain and a statement to be made Te-Huna can take a scalp and show Aussies are the real deal in MMA.

WAR HUNT!
Need more be said! Super Soma Mark Hunt, the resurgence of hunt has defied the odds against all who doubted him, coming into the UFC on a 5 fight loosing streak and being offered a payout from his ZUFFA contract after they purchased pride, rarely any one looked twice at Mark accept for Mark and his team.

Less then 2 days after the highlight reel KO Hunt called UFC President Dana White to express his feelings on where he stood in the company and how he expected to be treated from then on, Which for the super soma went superb as White took to twitter to state "Mark Hunt and I just got off the phone and had a great conversation".
Almost 36 Hours later the Scramble started RALLYFORHUNT, to replace Alistair Overeem against Junior 'Cigano' Dos Santos, after a phew discrepancies it was a done deal JDS VS Mark Hunt UFC 160 Co Main event an the Australian MMA community now lives within the fists of  Mark Hunt who is one more walk off knock out away from a chance at  UFC Gold, Hunt is the fuel, the wick and the flame to sky rocket MMA Downunder and his words awnser it all.
