Uriah Hall. Probably the most hyped Middleweight in the UFC's short history is back after his shock loss to Kelvin Gastellum in The Ultimate Fighter finale. Wow! "Who saw that coming?" Joe Rogan's words exactly what we were all thinking. Uriah went straight into the double leg takedown and held John there for the first minute not really doing any damage. Hall let Doomsday up soon after and immediately started to show his great striking capabilities. Some really nice jabs landed to John's chin kept him outside, but John wasn't to be denied coming straight back at Uriah with a good left hook. A good action packed first round, with Uriah probably getting the nod. Good leg kicks from both guys to begin the 2nd, Doomsday landing the better. Very much back and forth for the majority of the round. When both guys have so much respect for each others power, you can expect to see some very cautious striking like they had served up so far. John was able to get the takedown with a minute to go in the round and it should be 1 round a piece now. The 3rd round was again slow to get going, both very tentatively throwing a random right left combo or front keg kick. A nice knee from Uriah led to John getting the takedown, but Hall was able to work his way up again. Uriah got a takedown of his own, once again however the fight was quickly back on the feet. Ooooohhhhhhh! Doomsday takes Uriah down in the closing seconds and lands a flying right hand! What an exciting way to end the fight. Howard did enough in the end to get the split decision victory in his long awaited return to the Octagon..
